Exclusive in Switzerland!

Winner of the Kennedy Center's Mary Lou Williams Jazz Piano Competition, and named by Wynton Marsalis as one of his "Who's Got Next: Jazz Musicians to Watch," pianist/composer Helen Sung is a brilliant voice on today's jazz scene. For this appearance at Marian's Jazzroom, she brings a "special edition" Quartet composed of artists from diverse backgrounds and cultures to present her Convergence project. United in their love of jazz music, these four musicians (from Italy to the Virgin Islands to China/Taiwan to the United States) each bring their rich, varied experience together to create vibrant, creative music rooted in swing and groove. Helen's Quartet with John Ellis (saxophone), Reuben Rogers (bass), and Marco Valeri (drums) promises to, as the iconic Thelonious Monk urged, "lift the bandstand."
