SANTAMARIA QUARTET

Santamaria quartet was formed by professional international musicians from the HKB of Bern. Their specialty is traditional jazz, from Charlie Parker to Antônio Carlos Jobim. Their music follows the traditional style of Jazz, with some melodic and harmonic influences from Mediterranean music.

Apostrophe Quartet represents a cross-continental mix of voices and a collaboration between four musicians of different backgrounds. As they are all composers as well as performers, their repertoire consists of a mix of original music and jazz standards.

The Tamir Lifshitz Quartet began performing together in their hometown in Israel and met Luis Peralta while studying at The School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at The New School. With a sound deeply rooted in the tradition of bebop and straight-ahead jazz, they bring an informed and fresh approach to the Great American Songbook.

GEORGII GRYDKOVETS GROUP

Georgii Grydkovets, g / Chenxi Pan, voc / Ben Har Gaash, b / Anders Julsgaard, dr

A truly international group, this quartet comes from China, Ukraine, Israel, and Denmark via The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Georgii’s debut record came out in 2022 on Shifting Paradigm Records, and his secondary recording will be out soon featuring trumpeter John Raymond, and drummer Ari Hoenig.

Led by drummer and composer Maya Cohen from Israel, The Maya Cohen Quartet brings a fresh perspective to the tradition of straight ahead jazz. This string- centric ensemble brings its unique instrumentation to the forefront. This group of students from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music has a sound that is both connected and forward thinking.

Led by Israeli Born saxophonist Aviv Blum, the Aviv Blum Quartet features some of the most talented students at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Aviv has performed around the world at many festivals with the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra. Aviv takes his inspiration from his teachers such as the great saxophonist Dave Liebman, John Ellis, and Dayna Stephens.
